Getting Started Guide

Locating Projects:

All projects are displayed on the map of downtown, and in the right hand sidebar. Each project has its own unique color designation so it is easy to locate.

Project Information:

Once you locate a project either on the map or in the sidebar, simply control+click the project on the map, or just click the address on the sidebar. This will bring up information in the sidebar regarding the project you’ve selected. When you are finished reviewing the page, click the "Back Home" link to return to the project tracking main map page.

Navigating the Downtown Map:

To zoom in and move through the map, you can use the navigation tool located in the upper right part of the map. If you prefer to navigate through the map using your cursor, you can select one of the tools in the upper left corner of the page. One useful icon that you can use is the Show/Hide Layers tool. Simply click on the icon and you will see layers of information, particularly the 2005 arials. Click on the appropriate box to see the information.

Building Counts and Caps:

On the main map page, the Building Counts and Caps link in the sidebar takes you to a running total of the number of residential units and building square footage that are in progress, and how close the City is to reaching the maximum cap on the number of allowable units.

Toggling Layers:

Toggling Layers is a mapping feature which allows you to turn on or off layers of information. For example, if you simpy click on the aerial or public landmark box you will be able to see these features. Click the box again and these features go off.

That’s all there is to it! Now you’re ready to see what is happening in Redwood City’s wonderful and exciting Downtown.
